Request for prayer 9-15-2010

Another request for prayer has been sent to me this morning.  In passing it on, I urge each of you to stop and pray for pastor McClung.  This has to be a big surprise to him and his family.  when I say Pancreatic cancer it leaves a taste of incurable in the air.  It could leave us with feelings of hopelessness.  Momentarily the feeling of "How sad" flows through us.  Then we remember that OUR GOD is not limited in His Power,  It is then we start to pray.  It is then our faith rises above our fears, and calls out to God in the behalf of another.

This time we will collectively cry out to God for Pastor McClung.  The information below is what I received.  Thanks for praying.

Dear Friends,

I just received word that one of my favorite pastors, Bro. Paul McClung, is in Baptist Hospital (NLR). He went into the ER last night with severe pain. They thought it was his gall bladder. The doctor also stated that it could be kidney stones or pneumonia in the bottom of his lung so they did lots of test.

Tests results showed that it looks like pancreatic cancer that may have already spread to his liver. The doctor saw 5 spots on the liver. They are doing a liver biopsy this morning to be sure of what they are dealing with.

It is hard to put into words how special Bro. Paul is to so many people, including myself. I met him first when I was a youth minister in 1991. He was a great advisor to me and friend. He later was my pastor for many years.

I ask that you please not only pray for him yourself, but spread the word. Our God is still in the miracle business!

Prayer Need September 14, 2010

This is from my sister whom I requested prayer for last month.  She had learned the benefit of our community of intercessors and is now asking for help for someone else.  For herself she reports that her blood count is slowly rising, and at last check it was 10.8.  It is my understanding that the ideal is 15.  She is taking the Procrit shots, so we look forward to hearing more good reports from my sister.

Here is the request she sent to us.

"Just had a couple in here to pick up their boat. They have an 11 year old daughter (Shyanaa) that has been diagnosed with a rare form of aggressive cancer and is being treated at Vanderbilt. Cannot remember the name of it, but it is something very rare and is usually found in foreign countries, not America. Thought this was something for the intercessors."

Thanks for praying for Shyanna.  God is still in the prayer answering business.

Yours for intercession,
Doris
